Good afternoon DBMC Members,
As we officially kick off our 2026 Season with the recently completed October home tournament, I’d like to share an important update regarding our Points Standing calculation, effective October 1st.
At DBMC, we believe that being an active and consistent participant is just as valuable as achieving great results on the course. Our revised point system reflects that philosophy — rewarding members who show up, support the club, and take part regularly throughout the season.
Each player’s total score is now based on three key factors:
- Participation (Most Important)
Every event you play earns you 9 base points, even if you don’t finish near the top that day. This ensures that consistent engagement and participation are recognized and rewarded. - Average Winnings per Event (Performance – 60% Weight)
This measures your average performance in each event. Strong finishes improve your overall standing, but this factor carries less influence than participation. - Total Winnings Accumulated (Performance – 40% Weight)
This reflects your total winnings across all events for the season. It’s factored in at a lower weight compared to participation and average winnings.
Together, these three elements emphasize that consistent participation is the most important path to success in our club standings — while still recognizing and rewarding solid play.
In short:
- Every round you play earns 9 base points
- Performance contributes 60% (average winnings per event) and 40% (total winnings)
Members who stay active throughout the season will see their consistency pay off on the leaderboard.
This revised point system will also be used to determine qualifications for the Club Championship, Team Play, and other future DBMC events.
