2026 President’s Cup (Results)
We are excited to introduce a new annual event: the President’s Cup, played in a match play format. Our intent is for this to become a recurring MAJOR event, alongside the Club Championship.
Event Overview
- Field Size: 32 players
- Flights:
- Flight A – 16 players
- Flight B – 16 players
- Awards:
- Individual trophy for each flight winner
- Winners’ names engraved on the President’s Cup perpetual trophy, displayed in the Pro Shop next to the Club Championship trophy
- $200 gift certificate to each flight winner
- Exemption into the following year’s President’s Cup
Qualifying Round
- We have 21 A Flight players and 14 B Flight players registered.
- A Flight: The top 16 players with the lowest NET scores will qualify for match play.
- B Flight: All 14 registered players will earn automatic spots.
- Seeding for each flight will be based on Lowest Index (LI) over the past 3 months.
(Please see the attached list for individual LIs.) - Tiebreaker: In the event of identical qualifying NET scores, ties will be broken using total GROSS scores on the back 9.
- If a tie still remains, the tiebreaker will proceed to the last 6 holes, and if necessary, the last 3 holes (all based on gross scores)
Match Play Format & Scheduling
- The official match day for each round is the FIRST Sunday of the month, coinciding with our regular Home Tournament.
- Match pairings will be communicated via email to both players.
- Players may mutually agree to play their match on the THIRD Saturday of the month, which coincides with our regular Home Game.
- Saturday matches are first-come, first-served due to limited availability.
- Match play participants will receive priority for Saturday spots.
Match Play Rules
- No gimmies and no conceded holes.
- A Flight: Blue tees
- B Flight: White tees
- Handicap difference will be calculated using 75% of each player’s current index (per GHIN) on the day of the match.
- The resulting shots-off will be applied to the appropriate holes, starting with the lowest index (hardest) holes.
Match Deadlines
- Round 1: Must be completed by March 8
- Quarterfinals: Must be completed by April 5
- Semifinals: Must be completed by May 3
- Finals: Must be completed by June 7
Failure to show up for or complete a scheduled match will result in a forfeit, and the opposing player will advance to the next round.
Prizes
- A $200 gift card will be awarded to the Champion of each flight.
- Champions’ names will be added to the Perpetual President’s Cup Trophy.
- Champions will also receive an automatic exemption into the following year’s President’s Cup (qualifying round bypassed).
