May 5th Home Tournament Tee Times

Please read the following for this Sunday’s tournament.  If you have any questions you can email me (Richard).  There are two spots that opened up this morning.  First come, first serve.  Guests are welcome but they will have to play in the open spot.  I won’t adjust times, they are at the Pro Shop now.   Tee times are below.

Where does the $25 go?

  • $10 each. Low Net. We will pay 1/3 of the field each flight including ties. No card-offs.
  • Low gross wins $10.
  • $5 each Gross and Net skins each flight.
  • $4 each Closest to the pin
  • $1 each Christmas fund for the Pro Shop

Tournament Tees:

  • A & B Flight Blue Tees.
  • C Flight White Tees.

Arrival Time: Arrive at least 35 minutes prior to your tee time. This allows for check-in, warm-up, and any necessary preparations.

Upon Arrival: Please check-in at the Pro Shop and pay for your round. We will have a table setup outside where you can pick up your scorecard and answer any questions you may have.

Attendance and Communication:

  • If you are unable to make it to your scheduled tee time on the day of the event, please call or text Paul at 909-208-5834.
  • Cancellation Policy: To avoid a cancellation fee, cancel at least 24 hours in advance of your scheduled tee time.

Scoring:

  • Competitors will keep score for another player in the group.
  • Ensure that all scores are correct, legible, and the scorecard has been signed by both the player and the scorer.
  • It’s the responsibility of the player to ensure that their scorecard is correct before signing and turning in. This includes the total score as well as the score on individual holes is accurate.
  • Following your round, please turn in your scorecard and your game buy-in (either $25 for members or $5 for guests) to Richard at the cafe.

Closes to the Pins: Each flight will have its own card near the green, along with a nearby tape measure. Measure the distance from the hole to your ball. If you’re closest in your flight, jot down your name on the card.

Distance-Measuring Devices:

  • The GHIN app and Garmin watch do not have the updated layout, rendering them useless for yardage and other measurements.
  • Plan on using your laser rangefinder for yardage to obstacles and the green until the GPS apps are fixed.
  • Note: Distance-measuring devices may be used in all men’s club competitions as long as they measure distance only (i.e., not wind speed or slope).

Pace of Play:

  • Please play “Ready Golf” to maintain a good pace.
  • Each group must keep up with the group ahead.
  • You have a maximum of 3 minutes to search for a lost ball.

Balls Lost Out of Bounds: If you’re unable to locate your ball within 3 minutes, you can apply this local rule. Estimate the distance from the hole where you believe your ball was lost or went out of bounds. Then, drop a ball at that equal distance from the hole, parallel to the fairway edge, and within two club lengths into the fairway. Add two penalty strokes to your score. For balls that are out of bounds, use the point where the ball last crossed the course boundary as your reference. For instance, if your drive is lost, determine the estimated location and drop a ball at that equal distance from the pin along the fairway. You’re now hitting your 4th shot. Additionally, you have the option to apply USGA rules for out-of-bounds or lost balls by returning to the original spot or tee, as appropriate, and playing another ball with a one-stroke penalty. Alternatively, you can choose to play the provisional ball, if one was used, with the relevant penalty.

Provisional Ball: You should hit a provisional ball when you believe your original shot may be lost outside of a hazard or out of bounds. This helps save time by allowing you to continue play without having to go back to the original spot if the first ball cannot be found.

Completing the Hole:

  • In stroke play tournaments, a hole is not completed until your ball is in the hole.
  • Failure to hole out before teeing off on the next hole will result in disqualification (DQ).
  • If you have a blow-up hole, you can “X” out of the tournament portion of the game by entering “X” + your most likely scores. You are still eligible for closest-to-the-pin (CP) prizes and skins.

Post Your Tournament Scores: Post your score as a competition round, from either the Blue Tees or White Tees.

Tournament Rules: The following rules shall govern play at all times. The purpose of these rules is to clarify situations that have been subject to controversy and should establish uniform conditions for all golfers. U.S.G.A Rules of Golf shall govern play.

  • The trash bin at the end of the 14th hole is considered an immovable obstruction.
  • The drop zone for the 3rd hole is the red tee markers closest to the tunnel.
  • The piles of mulch on the 1st, 6th and 7th holes are considered Ground Under Repair. (If you definitely know that your golf ball went into the (GUR), you are entitled to take a free drop. However, if you’re uncertain about whether the ball entered the GUR, you don’t have that entitlement.
  • All course boundary fences and the fence around the driving range are out of bounds.
  • Right of the Maintenance Road on Hole 12 and 13 is to be played as a Lateral Hazard.
  • Protective fences on Holes 1, 2, 6, 7, 8, and 15, the restrooms on Holes 5 and 14, and the power line pole on Hole 5 are immovable obstructions.
  • The new freeway fences serve as out-of-bounds markers. If your ball comes to rest near a black post or chain-link fence, you can (1) Play it where it lies or (2) Declare your ball unplayable. Please note: There is no free relief from these fences or posts even when the ball is in bounds per U.S.G.A rules since the obstruction represents out of bounds.
  • The DBMC Temporary Local Rule regarding Exposed Roots aims to prevent personal injury and club damage from roots protruding away from trees. It applies specifically to roots that have surfaced away from the tree trunk. If a player’s ball lands near or on an exposed root, they may request relief following certain steps: they must first get agreement from at least one player in their group, then place a tee at the original ball spot. The ball can then be moved to a location ensuring relief from the root, typically within 3-5 inches away. Cleaning the ball is allowed when lifted. However, interference with the player’s stance by an exposed root does not grant relief. Players cannot take additional relief to improve their stance or swing away from trees. This relief does not apply within marked hazards; in such cases, the player must declare the ball unplayable and follow Rule 28 for relief.
