Gentlemen,

We’re holding our first membership meeting since the course closure on November 14, 2024. During this meeting, we will elect the 2025 board, with positions open for President, Vice President, Secretary, Away Tournament Chairman, and Membership Chairman. We are also looking for volunteers to assist with Home and Away tournaments.

The meeting will take place in the Café at the Diamond Bar Golf Course, starting at 6 PM. Free drinks and appetizers will be provided. Please RSVP by replying to this email.


Board Positions Overview:

President:
The President appoints or facilitates the appointment of all Committee Chairpersons, with Board approval. The President serves as an ex-officio member of all committees. If the President is unavailable, the Vice President will assume their duties. If the Vice President is absent, the Secretary will call the meeting to order, and a temporary Chairperson will be selected. Any officer or Director who misses three consecutive meetings without an excuse approved by the Board will have their position declared vacant.

Vice President:
The Vice President supports the President in overseeing the club’s operations and steps in when the President is unavailable. Responsibilities include helping to appoint Committee Chairpersons and ensuring smooth governance within the club.

Handicap Chairman:
The Handicap Chairman ensures fair play by educating members on handicapping rules, maintaining accurate scoring records, and regularly reviewing handicaps. This role also ensures compliance with the USGA Handicap System, acts as a liaison with golf associations, and manages related administrative tasks.

Secretary:
The Secretary keeps records of the Board’s proceedings and all club meetings. They handle official correspondence, send required notices, and assist with other tasks as directed by the President and Board.

Treasurer:
The Treasurer manages the club’s funds, deposits them in approved depositories, and disburses funds as authorized by the Board. They provide financial statements at regular Board meetings and a year-end report. The Treasurer’s accounts are audited biannually in June and December or as requested by the Board.

Home Tournament Chairman:
The Home Tournament Chairman organizes and manages golf tournaments at the club’s home course, ensuring a smooth experience for participants.

Home Tournament Assistant:
This role supports the Home Tournament Chairman in coordinating logistics, communicating with players, and ensuring events run smoothly.

Away Tournament Chairman:
The Away Tournament Chairman organizes and manages tournaments at other courses, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for all participants.

Away Tournament Assistant:
This role supports the Away Tournament Chairman in coordinating logistics, communicating with players, and ensuring events run smoothly.

Membership & Public Relations:
This position handles publicity, website updates, replies to member emails, and manages the club’s email list.
